Blut aus Nord

Blut aus Nord is a highly influential black metal band formed in Mondeville, France, in 1994. The band began as a solo project by Vindsval, who initially recorded under the name Vlad. Under this original moniker, he released two demos before adopting the Blut aus Nord name for the debut full-length album Ultima Thulée in 1995. Early in their career, Blut aus Nord's approach was rooted in traditional melodic black metal, heavily influenced by Nordic and second-wave black metal bands such as Burzum and Emperor.
